Contextual Immersion as Contrast



Urban infill sites of Beyoğlu's historic district are narrow, compact and have multiple identities like: the street side, the Bosphurus views, or the 'cumba'. The area is also stewards some of Istanbul's finest turn of the century iron works and stone facades. The facade designs express these different identities and morphology of iron works in today's cultural influences. For the resident's themselves inviting extensive natural light, openness to the views to the Bosphorus (or garden) and contemporary finely crafted interior finishes were a priority. The apartments offer a contrast of place while the building design blends into its unique and decorative context.
