A journey of life long learning and exploration :: The vision for improving the lives of children worldwide is the vision Hafiz Holding set for the ambitious vision for a K12 school for young minds, creativity, knowledge and social responsibilityto flourish. The design will sensitively connect to its place, reflect thevibrancy of the community and marks the places as one of and for the future inJeddah. The strategy is to create a vibrant, future-oriented, learning accessible,social and community environment. Theplace anchors the community with a strong local presence and outreach program -both a contributor to the community and a receiver of the community. The visionreport set forth the goals, guidelines and initial architectural charactersketches for their vision. Working closely with Hafiz Holding and Fulya Sari(educational consultant) we articulated a vision that works in concert with theeducational organizational goals and the physical place. Educational andarchitectural scope prioritize connection to the environment, encouragement ofcuriosity & sharing, employment of advanced technology for learningsettings, and knowledge creation of centuries in astronomy, math, storytelling,energy and philosophy. The master plan will suggest a ‘journey’ in a complex ofinterlinked courts + gardens, each with a unique sense of place interlinkedwith inviting streets.
